On the Feb. 13 edition of Talking Preps, Randall Clark, Rick Lewis and Gary Richmond announced their choices for coaches and players of the year for some regional conferences.

Mecklenburg County Public Girls Player of the year
Betsey Burnett, South Mecklenburg: led Sabres to league title averaging 15.9 points, 3.4 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 steals.
Molly Burns, Ardrey Kell: 14.6 points, 2.7 steals, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists for the Knights.
Nevaeh Farmer, North Mecklenburg: led Vikings to league title, averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 5.2 steals.
Misa Garris, Garinger: freshman averages 19 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.9 steals per game for the Wildcats.
Kam Kitchen, Independence: led team to rare conference title averaging 14.7 points, 3.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 3.1 steals.
Devin Long, Olympic: 16.7 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals.
Elle Stone, Mallard Creek: sophomore averaging 18.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 steals.
Blanca Thomas, Charlotte Catholic: top 10 national recruit 15.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.9 blocks and 1.7 assists.
Jerin Truesdale, Myers Park: averaged 13.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, two steals and 1.8 assists.

Sophie Deese, University Christian: 17.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 2.4 assists.
Jordyn Latter, Providence Day: Chargers star averages 15 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists.
Kayla Lee, Charlotte Christian: 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists for the Knights.
Samyha Suffren, Cannon School: led team to CISAA league title, averaging 15.7 points, nine rebounds, 4.1 steals and 3.6 assists.
Zoey Ward, Concord Academy: averaging 15.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals.

Jamyah Blakeney, Forest Hills: averaging 27.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.4 steals, 2.5 assists and 1.8 blocks.

Zahra Douglas, Marvin Ridge: School’s all-time leading scorer led her team to conference title.

Kirsten Lewis-Williams, Lake Norman: led team to unbeaten record through Feb. 14, averaging 19.1 points per game.
Chloe Norman, West Lincoln: averaging 20 points, 3.2 assists, 3.0 steals and two rebounds per game in Lincoln County.
Kate Sears, Watauga: regional star averages 21 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.1 steals.
Jaiden Thompson, Union Academy: 18.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 2.3 assists per game.
Jade Washington, Parkwood: averaging 18.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assits, 3.3 steals and nearly one block per game.
