Another South Carolina football player is transferring.

Starting USC edge rusher Gilber Edmond entered the portal Thursday, a school spokesperson confirmed to The State. The news was first reported by Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports.

Edmond started 10 of 12 games for South Carolina in 2022 and led the team with nine tackles for loss. He was second on the team with nine quarterback hurries and also had 39 total tackles and two sacks.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Edmond, a redshirt sophomore, enters the portal having played in 21 games for South Carolina over three seasons. He’s a former three-star recruit from Fort Pierce, Florida.
